ummm, Pud, what would you suggest he do, hosting a state visit by the Head of State of the nation holding hundreds of billions of our debt and making about 3/4 of our consumer electronics? financial, and trade interests?

The Chinese are our enemy. They compete for the same resources.

As for the Russian thing, they put themselves under, and yes, we might follow by

actually, if you go by math(using current birthrate stats), we could have a greater
population density than them soon(remember, they have bit more land). And yes, if
we all don't work together, we'll all be either eating dirt or fighting over limited food, and
more so, water. Luckily, I have available several hundred acres of really productive farmland,
near a large body of water,so try, Pud, to stay at least near my good side And no, the
good side isn't the rear, so perish that thought, which seems to be a favorite of yours.

Presidents have little or nothing to do with it. We sold out our industry, our jobs and our economy. We became focused on partisan politics while the Chinese built a nation. At any rate, neither event was of much consequence, the hostages were going to get freed anyway, and the contract wasn't worth squat, since they followed it with several years of obsession with Clinton's sex life.
