A Complete Waste of Space

So what would you do if you have a surplus of planes, would you sack pilots on the training pipeline? And if you had airframes that are dated by oh say 3 years would you scrap them or just mothball them till you get some dosh to get them upto standard? And lets not mention the Nimrods
