well some members of this forum are proof positive of that.

There is an enormous amount of short-sighted assholes in the world that fail to see the positive effect America has had on all of civilized humanity. Much more than there are degenerate American children posting garbage on twitter.

That being said, My Grandfather fought with Chinese nationalists in Asia against the Japanese in WW2. His experience was so bad, that decades later, he stated, "If I could press a button, causing the island of Japan to sink, killing every man, woman, and child on it, I wouldn't hesitate.". He was a good man, not a bit of asshole in him.

I would agree during WW2 the Japanese Military did some HORRENDOUS things, but that was 70 years ago and they are not the same people.

Yes it was a long time ago. I didn't share my Grandfather's perspective on that, but I certainly understand it.
