Credible threat?

What is your take on this?

Obviously another attack on the anniversary would have a huge effect. Personally I think the security people are hedging their bets, i.e. it is likely that some idiot might try something, but they might not actually know much more than that and the hope is to suggest we are on to them.

If they did have something planned, I'd guess it wouldn't be somewhere obvious either due to the upped security, the mere action of an attack anywhere on that day would be enough.

I'm hoping it's all wind and bluster, but just in case, stay safe folks.

It seems?
Anything they blow up?
Will create jobs..at least more than Obama has...

Targets of opportunity could include?
The United Nations building...
AFL-CIO and other union properties...
Media Matters and affiliates...
Jeremiah Wright's Cadillac...
Eric Holders porcelain throne...
Janet Napolitano's fountain of douche...

Soapy...I don't believe the threats are very credible at this stage of the "game".
Why?
With the death of Bin Laden...lack of retaliation then...and the subsequent disarray?
Indicates, to me, little threat now or in the immediate future...
This does not mean that anyone should drop their "guard".
I just find it interesting that Obama's "Jobs Speech" was such a failure...that this "threat" was
thrown out to public as a distraction...ya know, two days before the anniversary....

ignoring the predictable stupid attempt a political relevance from Pud, Soapy, my take is this:

It fits the Al-Q mold to find significance in anniversaries.
There is a desire to avenge the death of Bin Laden.
There are still a few whackjobs left in the dwindling movement.

Therefore, the threat is probably 'credible'. Still, it seems important that no one over here seems
to be going overboard(except, maybe Fox News, as they can avoid discussing a really good speech
by the Prez for a few days more), so there is probably more a potential risk than imminent risk, if that
wording makes sense.

Seems like my little "poke" was spot on... ;)
Basically, sorta like Slick said...about the credibility of the threat....

Old Pudfark sez: " All Pud wuz doing? Taking advantage of a crisis, fer an opportunity to make a political statement....like whut he done learned from the Dem's... 8-) "

Scaring your people is a good way to control them. If there is no thread, then make one up. If there is one make it even bigger.

Asking people to be wary has no use whatsoever, except to make people scare and take their attention from something else.

That's pathetic. Really, it is.
Worthy of something Happy would say.
You should be ashamed of yourself.

R_D, you do have a point there....
The terrorists should be paid "union scale" for the demo job.
In no way, should terrorists feel entitled, it's "un-american"....

Yeah, it is pathetic...ten years later...with no discernible resolution...
The only organization, not talking about personnel reduction?
Is the U.S. Military.... There seems to be a lot of unemployed pacifists out there....

The U.S. is a goat-feck of contradictions...which, was/is my point.
You may not like me? But, you do know me better than that.... ;)
