Obama's Deficit-Reduction Plan Takes Aim at Military Retirement System
While President Obama's newly unveiled deficit-reduction plan has drawn much attention -- and criticism -- for targeting the wealthiest Americans with new taxes, it also aims to overhaul the retirement benefits for U.S. military members.
Just weeks after the Pentagon proposed scrapping the military's traditional pension program, Obama released a plan Monday that calls for reexamining the retirement system that "provides generous benefits to the relatively few members who stay at least 20 years and no benefits for the roughly 80 percent of servicemembers who stay less than 20 years."
The document says the system "was designed for a different era of work, and is now out of line with most other government or private retirement plans."

WTF? times one thousand.....
What other Federal Job is like the contract/commitment that the military has with it's service men/woman?
Please to name one other Federal Job that you cannot quit, whenever you feel like it? And not go to jail or face a firing squad? Our service people's commitment is absolute and it must remain that way. The same way our commitment has remained absolute to them. Only a complete fucking idiot could think? That we can diminish our part to the military and that the military won't diminish their part to us...

Tomorrow and the days after...Have been Canceled
The AFL-CIO has called upon it's Military Members to go out on "Strike"
for Higher Wages and Benefits
From the White House:
Today, the President met with the Union Representatives of the Military.
While the President was in agreement with the Union, he stated "that the government,
at this time, cannot morally raise taxes above 75 percent to pay for this small increase in
the budget". The President further stated " that he is now considering implementing a
National Draft". The President emphasized, "Poor people and the Unemployed" will not be
subject to this National Draft, as it would be discriminatory towards those groups of unfortunates.
The President, smiled and stated " He would only consider the "rich" folks for Involuntary Military Service".
The President then gave the following reasons for his decision:
1. Rich folks don't need a pay raise or benefits.
2. Rich folks are lazy and have never done anything for themselves or another.
3. This will put them "fat cats" in their place.
The President then stated, in a calm and reassuring tone, that " The United States Military had not been
compromised by this little misunderstanding...and that he, as Commander In Chief was in full control and
he expected his new bill, to be rammed through the Congress and the Senate, by the end of the week.
