69 javlin or AMX, hard to tell.
I had a 70 Javelin 390. It was a fun car
despite engine issues involving the
horrid AMC engine oil pick up.
After an overhaul and modifying the pickup
eliminating the plastic spacer button in favor of a welded
steel button the car was reliable and the most fun I
ever had with a car! over 100,000 miles with no engine problems!
AMC built a cheap but functional car that anyone could work on.
Only problem is you will work on them!

Oh yes i noticed.
the 1969 AMC 390 had a different deck height, about .2 shorter than the 1970.
The 1970 had a better set of cylinder heads.
But the 69 was more powerful in reality due to better
carb(s) and a slightly more agressive cam.
Most 1969 AMC V8s were equipped with 4bbl carb(s) were Carter AFBs.
They switched to a Ford Motorcraft carb for 1970 and it was a piece of shit.
my 1970 390 got a slightly hotter cam and an Offenhauser 2X4 manifold
with 2 carter AFBs. Gas was cheap and I was a nut

Fuel economy was suprisingly good and it was a rush to drive!
Borg Warner 4 speed gear box helped.
