Well...folks can speculate on it for years...and more...
It still boils down to this:
The proximate cause is the "mental case" involved.
The only viable solution is to "find" a way to effectively I.D.
the mental cases in our society, change our laws to deal with
these problem people and then medically treat them.
Lacking the ability to do the above:
Personally obtaining the ability to defend yourself and others, from them.
The worst possible solution:
Attempting to disarm them and at the same time, disarming yourself.
I say all of the above:
Because it's true. How? 28 years of working with, around and for a solution to this problem. There has never been a viable solution. Why? Nobody would/could fund it.
The why of it today? Is the same.
Other folks opinions, here:
Are just opinions about their "feelings". None of them have any type of background involving this type of problem. Their expression of their "feelings", when presented by tone and verbiage as facts? Is beyond a deliberate misleading of the truth. It's damn dangerous.
Nic, it's the way I know it. It's not the way I want it. It's a damn tough problem, both legally and medically. To tough, apparently, for some others here to understand.

The mayans never said the world would end on 2012, they said it would be the end of 26000 year "great year", which is the precessional cycle of Earth. It's, basically the end & the start of a new age, & we shall be entering the age of the aquarius.
This change of era is alledgedly marked on earth in the form of the sphynx & the great pyramid amongst other things.
