while I am anything but a fan of the NRA, and hold them largely responsible for the lack of laws and discouragement of enforcement of existing gun laws, and find their attitudes towards gun buyback policies and a host of other things reprehensible, this one eludes me. Seriously. This game seemingly has no simulated live targets of any kind, and attempts to put safety teaching into the mix. Where's the problem, here? Just as I rant when right wingers get their panties in a bunch for nothing, it is only fair for me to point out when some on the left do likewise.

Maybe it is because the photo shows the barrel of an M16 type assault rifle

Fair enough, Slick...
you said it best above.
Though, I do
disagree with what you said "
NRA, and hold them largely responsible for the lack of laws and
discouragement of enforcement of existing gun laws,". I'd like to see? The Who, Where and When of how you developed that thought? If, that's just how you feel about it? Well, ok. However, I've never seen anything factually to support what you said.

hell, Pud, you don't have to go back into the past any farther than last week, when the NRA filed a protest with the Tucson Police. They'd held a recent gun buyback program, to coincide with the tragic shooting event there a couple years back. The guns were bought back and to be destroyed. The NRA is planning to sue, demanding that all guns bought back be re-sold to the public.

Common sense suggests?
There's a bit more to it than that?
Could have something to do with "throwing away"
the taxpayers money?
Maybe, the NRA should have a competing "buy back" program?
As in, we will pay ya more for the good stuff.
Nothing like a little spirited competition..eh?
And...the "idiot" taxpayers there..end up melting down..all the trash.

bullshit. The purpose of gun buybacks to wisely use taxpayer money to reduce(voluntarily) the number of guns in circulation.

I don't see the idiot in the quoted text being the taxpayers. Let's leave it at that....

I'd really like to leave it like that, I would, just can't.
Here's why?
When the "do gooders" are using taxpayer monies to buy
broken BB guns for a couple of hundred bucks?
The word "idiot" is more appropriate....than "wise".
Hence...just guessing? The NRA's involvement.
Which, admittedly, I see as a problem and you don't, per the title in this thread.
Cheers..for both us having a lively but civil discourse.

Some people are so stupid. This guy doesn't come close to getting it.
"Is this some kind of sick joke?” asked one user known as Papershipsonfire. “The NRA complains about violent games and then releases one a week later. Sure you’re not shooting humans but does it really matter?”
