Gustav Whitehead flew before the Wright brothers?

Post by HappyHappy »

His machine was, like the langley aerodrome was essentially airworthy.
Both were tried before the Wrights, but....failed?
Whitehead failed to ever demonstrate a flight in daylight after it "first flew"
over Bridgeport Connecticut in 1901.

To many holes in this story.
Whom would fly it at night?
He never got it off the ground again, did he forget how?
Why would such a huge story be lost?

Both the Whithead #21 and the langley aerodrome were flown by people
later after the early "flights". Whitehead #21 needed a more modern engine of
substantially more power and both needed some modification to fly.

Sounds like bullshit to me.

Just another feeble attempt to re-write history.
