All he claims is that the statistics don't bear out the hypothetic model relationship between man-made emissions and short term effects. Nothing more, nothing less, and the guy is a brilliant analyzer of statistical data, always has been famous for it.

Still, anyone who claims that mankind has NOT had a deliterious effect upon the climate, or that the historical cycle is trending up in temps globally, or that sea rise is partly a man-made problem, is a flat-out fool.

because he is talking about current rates, not the trend over the past 100 years. He is also, if you read the article, questioning the data collected.
