Obama's DNC Play book or What Congress oughta do?

Vote like Obama did.
What?

Yup, when congress reconvenes....and....when the question of Syria is put forth, for a vote.
All the Republican representatives should vote, PRESENT.
Leaving the decision/verdict to the Democratic representatives?
Them, that choose poorly? Can "hang" with Obama.
:)

Anybody got a better idea? 8-)

Nic, I'm in personal agreement with you. Voting "present" has a much different meaning and is essentially, some what...the same. Politically, it means so much more....it's an American thing, that Obama used to do. Seems really relevant now. Pertinent, in fact and timely too.

America under Obama's reign....has deteriorated and thus our previous role...as this world's self proclaimed "police man", has dried up and disappeared. Proof of that is Obama's loud words and no action.

Obama, at the moment, is trying to pass off his "stupidity and arrogance" to the Congress. Obama does have the unilateral authority to act on his own. He just lacks the balls to be responsible and accountable for it. Thus, the hand off to our Congress.

The best case scenario is..imho..to leave it solely upon Obama. On his own...it's damn doubtful that he will attack. That was/is the point of this thread.

um, don't grasp the concept of a 'majority', do you? For example, a vote of 110 For, 85 agaisnt and 215 present, doesn't carry.

Funny that all of the sudden he feels the need for congressional approval to take act on Syria.

I seem to remember he didn't feel that same need when he took action on Libya.
Why the sudden change if heart? Or is he just looking for a way out of the "red line" and backing himself into a corner like he did and a chance to blame congress and the republicans when they vote no?

Obama is an incompitent spineless whimpering pussy.
That's the reason.
The whole world knows he's a puss.

You are closer to understanding what I said and the why of it. The time for Obama to act was 10 days ago, it's ten days later and he needs another ten days to wait on Congress. No wonder Benghazi was a slaughter house is such a short time. I wonder how long it takes Obama to work up the courage to take a shit and when he does eventually take that shit....who he blames it on. Throwing his screw up in the lap of Congress and waiting ten more days (no early recall stated) is a feeble attempt to sweep his turd under the collective American rug, all while the entire world watches him do it. Yup, Obama is known for how he cleans house.

Should the Republicans vote "present" the entire Obama Problem falls into the Dem lap. This vote is not required/mandated by law. It puts the entire issue on Obama's shoulders/hind end where it belongs and the rest of Dem's can jump on aboard. By voting present, it's a win win for the Repubes. It also, places the Responsibility and Accountability back where it originally belonged...on the lip of Obama.

BTW Slick...playing stupid is your forte here. Majority don't come into play as you well know. Conveniently, you forget, your president has had the Authority to Act on this matter independently of the Congress for more than ten days... He hasn't. Pretty much what HH is saying stands. What CUDA questions is accurate. Try again, Slick...do something OBama won't....man up.

Syria is a lose lose.
Any choice that is made will be bad. On one hand you back Iran, on the other you back Terroists. or you just sit back do nothing and lose face.
But the president wasn't wise enough to see that, and he opened his mouth with an empty threat to take action if the "red line" was crossed. An action that he never had the courage to take on his own. His hope was that his "words" would suffice. But unfortunately for him the rest of the world is smarter then the US left and knew that his talk was cheap, they knew that he would not follow through on his threat on his own. So now he looks to play politics with the situation. Now if he doesn't get congress to support he says.

I wanted to do something but the republicans said no.

Or he says I wasnt sure about taking action, but those warmongering republicans wanted to take action when I had my doubts.

That's it exactly. Which is why I propose for the Repub's to vote "present"...then there's no one to blame but Obama and the "foolish" Dem's who may go along with him. :)
