HOW WILL OBAMACARE AFFECT HEALTH INSURANCE RATES IN YOUR STATE?
A few excerpts:
"According to the map, New Mexico, Vermont, South Dakota, and Connecticut will see the steepest rate hikes: on average, 130%, 97%, 83%, and 59%, respectively."
"ObamaCare’s supporters have argued that health insurance premium increases were insignificant because poor people would now be protected by taxpayer-funded subsidies. However, subsidies are only good news for those receiving them; most others will be facing higher premiums and higher taxes to pay for those subsidies."
"Noting that younger men and older women will be the hardest hit when it comes to rate hikes with ObamaCare"
“Should you sign up for health insurance that is more expensive than your coverage today? Or should you drop out of the market and pay the fine? That, my friends, is the 2-trillion-dollar question.”

wow, Pud! Did you read the description of the methodology? They are not only comparing apples to oranges, they might be more rightly described as comparing apples to anteaters......as a research person, that is the worst set up comparison study I may have ever read!

for starters, those 'submissions' are not final rates, but merely requests for increases to certain plans. This has to be done, because there is a 10% cap in place, which has to be approved by the feds if it is going to be allowed to exceed that. More scare tactics before the real numbers are in, and NO they aren't going to get anyone to defund the ACA. Get used to that fact, please.

Yes, I know, it's a few weeks away
Nice to know? That the Fed's and States are all in full compliance with the ACA...you say.

I tell ya HH...it's a real head scratcher....should I keep paying $15,000.00 a year for my wife and myself?
Or...should I pay $750.00 each, equaling $1,500.00 a year....and buy a new boat?
What I said earlier...that went over Slick's head:

oh, it didn't elude me.....make that choice, and hope you stay healthy, because a simple gall bladder attack will send you into bankruptcy.

No it won't. "ACA...all the way".
I'm thinking...about a 28' pontoon boat....bimini top on the back....front part open....new bamboo fly rod...90 horse four stroke motor..jet drive on it...complete with shitter, sound system and a large ice box for the beverages... Thanx everybody for making this "affordable".
Damn...I can't find my Jimmy Buffet CD's....

Jimmy Buffet LPs sound so much better.....and you might wish to save the fly rod bucks and get a couple good boat rods for the boat.
Now, enough of this nonsense, I'm going to gamble for a couple hours(on the casino's comp money), cash out and go to an outdoor art festival and Italian restaurant before ending the day with Birthday Cake and grandchildren!!! w00t!

Citing costs, IBM to move retirees off health plan
International Business Machines Corp. plans to move about 110,000 retirees off its company-sponsored health plan and instead give them a payment to buy coverage on a health-insurance exchange, in a sign that even big, well-capitalized employers aren't likely to keep providing the once-common benefits as medical costs continue to rise.
IBM said the growing cost of care makes its current plan unsustainable without big premium increases.
Yup....that's right...IBM is just a bunch of dumbasses. They should'a all listened to Slick. Me? Well, I'm just gonna call it a "APB" instead of "ACA". Affordable Pontoon Boat and register it as "Sink or Swim" or maybe..."float the note"...perhaps? "Barry's Buoy".
