in related football news: I just read a study that looked into the most unstable fan bases for NFL franchises. This was defined as those of us taking losses the worst. Guess who the top 3 were--Steelers, Pats and Raiders fans. Hell, you would think Raiders fans would at least be USED to it by now........
The Pats thing surprises me not a bit. Heck, when I had season tix(1981-86), we were literally banned from having late day or night games in Foxborough. We showed up in the lots early(like 8 am), armed with serious controlled substances and enough beer to float the Queen Mary, and then staggered into a stadium sponsored by a beer company(Shaeffer). Kind of an ugly crowd on a losing day, which were quite frequent.
