Dashcams are a necessity in Russia.
They are a good idea anywhere.
I use a front and rear dash cam on my vehicles at all times.
In this state we have a nasty little rule that you are
always responsible for your nose.
So we also have people doing STUPID stuff like
not giving a fuck when they pull out into traffic.
The camera gives one a chance if you get victimized
by one of these assholes.

Around here? If'n ya drive a "dually" (as in a one ton dual rear wheel truck) you don't need no stinkin' camera's...folk jes better get outta yer way....

In Russia they are required for you to get insurance.

I'm going to buy one for my car after watching a few dumbasses almost running into me.
