Uninsured Rate Drops, Thanks To Obamacare

WASHINGTON (AP) — The share of Americans without health insurance is dropping to the lowest levels since President Barack Obama took office, but sign-ups under his health care law lag among Hispanics — a big pool of potential beneficiaries.

With just three weeks left to enroll on the new insurance exchanges, the Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index, finds that 15.9 percent of U.S. adults are uninsured thus far in 2014, down from 17.1 percent for the last three months — or calendar quarter— of 2013.

Released Monday, the survey based on more than 28,000 interviews is a major independent effort to track the health care rollout. The drop of 1.2 percentage points in the uninsured rate translates to about 3 million people gaining coverage.

Googled "Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index" ?
Found this from their website: "The Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index provides an in-depth, real-time view of Americans' well-being, giving governments, communities, employers and health plans unmatched insight into the health of their populations. The Well-Being Index includes topics like physical and emotional health, healthy behaviors, work environment, social and community factors, financial security, and access to necessities such as food, shelter and healthcare."

What's "slick" about this?
Note the "Gallup" in the name...it's to deliberately mislead you into thinking/believing this is the same reputable "Gallup Poll" folks...it ain't. It's a play on words to fool you. That's why I say, it's very "slick".

No need to respond, if'n you agree with me. ;)

ummm, Pud, it is the same Gallup polling agency. In case you were clueless(but, I'm being redundant), Gallup does this sort of stuff as a business. Thus, they work to do surveys for a bunch of outside hires.

Apparently...you didn't read all of the link.

"In 2013, Gallup and Healthways extended the reach of the Well-Being Index beyond the United States. Now, Gallup and Healthways measure well-being in almost every major country in the world. With results to be released in 2014, global leaders will have an opportunity to benchmark the well-being of their country against the results of roughly 140 countries around the world."

and what do you read into that rather bland mission statement? Gallup works with this group to provide data, now on a global basis, to allow for nations to study(accurately) their healthcare outcomes. So what?

nice dodge, care to try again. That is the SAME Gallup polling firm doing the polling. Why would you be so stupid as to claim otherwise?
