A Complete Waste of Space

Progressives are like fleas on a dawg.....They is hard to spot...they feed off the dawg...they is a source of constant irritation to the dawg...and if the wrong one lands on the dawg...it could kill'em.....

Knowing that...ya gotta get rid of'em....Now you could spend a lot of money and take the herbal approach...maybe hire somebody to recite a few incantations...you could ask yer neighbor and maybe put some powder on yer dawg.....and still the dawg has fleas....hell, you could buy one them collars....wash the critter's bedding....and still the fleas are there...Finally, some nice guy, like me , tells ya.."Hey buddie...if'n ya want git rid of them fleas? ya gotta dip that there dawg...an it'll kill them ticks too...." So, you do it....Afterwards, you discover...the dawg's happy, you're happy, the wife and kids is happy and the cat don't really give a crap.

sorry, but that really doesn't fit the traditional definition. It does fit the modern, Ronny Raygun message, but that isn't really conservatism, unless you throw in an aversion to foreign militiary involvement, and a strong central government(not large, strong) with laws to regulate behavior. See William Buckley, or George Will, for what a REAL conservative thinks. And, yes, conservatism has and does evolve, as do all political ideologies.

by the way, could you cite me an example, in any society, after the advent of the Industrial age, where implementation of the bolded part has ever been done, and worked out well for the vast majority of the population? I'd be curious, as would others, I suspect, if you can find one. And, please, give some sort of backing statistics, because you know good and damned well that I'm sitting here prepared to show you some horror stories around the above model.
