A beggar on the street.

Today as I walked home from work, I saw a beggar on the street. This dude had holes in the holes in his trousers. His beard had the remnants of soup and bread from the night kitchens. His eyes were glazed with cheap booze and sleeping rough in winter.
I really felt sorry for him, and considered giving him some money to perhaps alleviate his despair, but, then I realised that my charity might actually make his situation worse.
You see, he had a sign written on some cardboard which read :
"Will befriend Pudfark for food!"
So I ignored him and moved on.
The next beggar had a similar sign, on the same old cardboard in the same old print.
"Will call Pudfark an asshole for free"
So I donated generously to him because on principle, he was an honest beggar and was not asking for anything but the truth.
