What's the more popular league down in the Earth's armpit?
The AFL or the NRL?

Nr what but yeah AFL by far its followed in all states where as nrl is pretty much nsw and qld we have a team down here but its never on the back page

I asked because there's a thread I'm following in another sports forum that has a rather heated debate going on between two Aussie dudes.

The one guy, (from Adelaide) says the AFL is an "entertainment" league designed to amuse the mentally retarded. Much like "professional" wrestling here in North America.

The other guy, (from Canberra) says the NRL is a "rehabilitation" league for rapists, pedophiles and wife beaters designed to lessen over crowding in Australian jails.

I was just wondering if there is some sort of rivalry between these two leagues?

well, the armpit of the Universe is New Jersey, and I'm pretty sure they like the NFL.....
