HUFFINGTON POST LIES ABOUT BORDER POLL RESULTS
"Most Americans believe Migrant Children should be allowed to remain in U.S., Poll Shows"
For a story about a poll that shows only 13% of Americans want the children in this recent flood of illegals to be allowed to stay in America, The Huffington Post wrote this headline: "Most Americans Believe Migrant Children Should Be Allowed To Remain In U.S., Poll Shows."
Obviously, HuffPo didn't like the results of the poll, but rather than simply ignore it, the left-wing outlet chose instead to lie about it: [emphasis added]
The poll, conducted on July 31-Aug. 5, found that 51 percent of Americans believe the unaccompanied children being detained at the U.S.-Mexico border should be allowed to remain in the country for some length of time.
That included 38 percent who thought the unaccompanied youngsters should be sheltered and cared for until it was deemed safe for them to return home. Thirteen percent said the children should be allowed to stay in the United States, while 32 percent said the children should be immediately deported.
The headline is not spin or left-wing opinion or partisanship on the part of the Huffington Post, it is a bald-faced, straight out, indefensible lie.

The left and the media are losing the border debate in the exact same way they lost the most recent gun control debate. The left starts out with a campaign of emotional blackmail, conservative media then rushes in with facts and original reporting; and suddenly the left and the media are sputtering with half-truth and full-blown lies as the tide of public opinion turns against them.
Only 13% of those polled believe these illegal children should be allowed to remain in the US.
Still, a desperately dishonest HuffPo writes, "Most Americans Believe Migrant Children Should Be Allowed To Remain In U.S., Poll Shows."
Lies don't get any bigger than that.

REUTERS MISLEADS ABOUT RESULTS OF OWN BORDER POLL
Reuters commissioned a border poll and obviously didn't care for the results. When you are Reuters, though, that's not a problem. You simply bury the inconvenient numbers under a misleading headline that reads, "Obama vow to speed deportation of children at odds with public opinion" -- even though the poll says nothing of the sort.
What the Reuters poll actually says is that only 13% -- that's right, 13% -- of those polled said the border children in question "should be allowed to stay in the United States."
Only 38% believe "the unaccompanied youngsters should be sheltered and cared for until it was deemed safe for them to return home."
Another 32% "said the children should be immediately deported." Moreover…
The Reuters/Ipsos poll showed that 48 percent of Democrats believe the children should be cared for until it is safe for them to return home, against 30 percent of Republicans and 37 percent of people who identified themselves as independents.
What you have here are only 48% of Democrats on board.
So how does Reuters attempt to justify its misleading headline? With this meaningless factoid:
The poll, conducted on July 31-Aug. 5, found that 51 percent of Americans believe the unaccompanied children being detained at the U.S.-Mexico border should be allowed to remain in the country for some length of time.
First off, considering the question, that number is shockingly low and says nothing about approving or disapproving of a speeded up but legal deportation process. Regardless, Reuters spun it into opposition because it was the only number that could in any way be spun into a pro-amnesty headline
The media wants Obama to legalize millions of Democrats just as badly Obama does. Poll after poll, however, shows that the American people -- huge majorities of the American people -- disagree.
Rather than report that fact, outlets like Reuters have no choice but to mislead their own readers, and more importantly, DC lawmakers. If the media can build an artificial bubble that says amnesty is popular, that's the best chance the Left has to intimidate Congress into getting those Democrats legalized.
