no, DH, they aren't, in my case(won't speak for Res). Hate is easy to figure out. Disagreeing with, for instance, the ACA or foreign policy or the like isn't hate. Badmouthing the first lady for her facial expressions, claiming the President to be a Muslim radical, questioning his/her loyalty to the US, and the like is HATRED, pure and simple. Never in my life have I seen the level of pure hate aimed at a President(or First Lady) that these two have had to endure. No shock, as black folks endure such stupid hatred every day in America.

no, I was very much alive and well. NOTHING, and I repeat, NOTHING remotely close was hurled at Bush. Dems didn't even question the legitimacy of his election to office once the SCOTUS settled things. Sure, he might have been called stupid, and/or a former drunken playboy. NEVER did the attacks go to Laura, that I EVER heard. You have evidence otherwise? Likewise, you can feel free to show me examples of elected officials showing public disrespect for the President, or commentary akin to the folks suggesting that Obama is some sort of anti-US traitor.
