1.enabled any woman to get contraception, even if her employer's healthplan doesn't allow for it.
2.participated in a deal with Iran that just flat-out makes sense
3. opened relations with Cuba, a situation that was a senseless clusterfuck for decades.
4. sided with the plaintiffs in a groundbreaking lawsuit on same-sex marriage
5. gave what has been deemed one of the 10 most significant speeches ever given by a President at the Charleston funeral

The A.C.A. became the law of the land.

Marriage equality became the law of the land.

Guantanamo Bay is being emptied of prisoners.

This is the most active and successful lame duck President in American history! And he still has a year to go!
He could have easily just given up after last November and no one would have blamed him for it. But he didn't.
That guy plans on going out in style!

I do agree that the health care system here in the US needs a lot of work, I personally disagree with some of the A.C.A. and totally disagree on the back handed way it was jammed down our throuts!

well, DH, maybe the pic above DOES apply to you. What, pray tell, has been the alternative provided for Iran? None. What evidence is there that Obama has aimed to release criminals and drug dealers, when every immigration move has been aimed toward long-term residents and children? Why on earth would we continue a Cuba policy that hasn't worked, at all? I may not feel that Obama has reached final success on these matters, but he sure has shown himself to be the only thinking adult in the room. As for the marriage equality issue, Obama shows the growth of an adult on a sensitive topic, Biden having been ahead of him(Obama was good with civil union).He has been quite consistent about equality issues, but the right loves to search for cherrypicked quotes and then disparage him. Bottom line is that history will treat Obama as great President, and the GOP obstructionists as the traitors they are
