You know, I was just thinking about that yesterday.
Over on the main board under the Pilot's Lounge it reads, "Kick back, relax, have a laugh." But I hardly remember the last time the Lounge was like that. It used to be. But now it just seems to be an endless diatribe by Ann Coulter wannabes running around pissing in their oatmeal.
Every now and then I drop in a new thread that has nothing to do with politics and has a humorous aspect to it just for old times sake. But you're right, those guys aren't here any more. It usually dies pretty quick.
A while back Tolwyn thought about starting a separate "politics" area in the forum.....perhaps he should start a new "kick back, relax, have a laugh" area.

or, people could try and utilize that aspect of THIS forum more. I, too, try to lighten up with weird news and stuff I come across. I'll publicly give you, and Fatman props for doing likewise. What baffles me is the response to the rightwingnut posts......to decide not to post. If Pudfark wants to throw some goofy comment in a wholly unrelated thread about Progressives, so be it. To my mind, his exposure of his own ideological idiocy is amusing in it's own right. I truly miss the insights, posts and input from the likes of Crusty, Soapy, Major Bloodnok, commie and even Quasar.
You put it well,Res... y'all won the war, essentially. To give up because of a few outliers seems as odd as the original schism that sent folks to form the Pub.
