I chose to open this one and still cannot see why Slappy wants teachers fired. It would be REAL nice if ALL Americans tried to get a better understanding of all other regions and religions. Perhaps we wouldn't have so many stupid so-called conservatives.

you see,Pud, no one is suggesting SUPPLANTING our culture, but merely expanding our understanding of other cultures. We've spent most of the last 50 years fighting failed wars and creating unseen monsters because we don't grasp the cultures outside our own. That is why this stuff is important. Only the stupid reject learning other cultures. Most Asians and Europeans can speak 4 or more languages and grasp some parts of many cultures. This makes their societies more flexible and able to deal with more people.

You on the other hand, don't even grasp the culture which our nation is founded upon, and has nutured for a couple hundred-plus years about welcoming the impoverished, the refugees, the injured. For that, we've been rewarded with blessings and diversity beyond any expectation. You would have us throw that away, for what?
