A Complete Waste of Space

.....over here in good ole USA. Trump has clinched for the GOP and despite William Kristol(conservative gadfly) claiming to run a third party candidate, is pretty secure, as the GOP leadership has to some weak degree, lined up behind him.
For the Dems, Bernie Sanders is still plugging away, but likely Hillary will get the nod. Some of us would love them to draft Biden at the convention, but that isn't likely. So, let's go with Hillary as the assumed choice, and look at how the week went over here.

Going in, some polls from May suggested a close race between disliked candidates. Suddenly, the polling seems to be breaking to a 10 percent plus margin for HIllary. It is likely that the pros working for Clinton have seen Trumps support eroding a couple weeks ago, which explains the tactics this week. First Obama, then Hillary, then Michelle Obama got on the airwaves in speeches eviscerating Trump with his own words. Almost as if he was IN ON THE PLAN, Trump proceeds to--Attack a judge as 'Mexican' and thus inherently prejudiced in a court case. For the record, while of Hispanic descent, the judge is a native of Ohio. Trump also got bad press for the case the judge is dealing with(a fraudulant education scheme), and sort of sitting on donations to his offices intended for veterans groups. Today, he doubled-down and referred to some poor person of color with, "look at my African American!". As David Axelrod(as sharp a politcal campaign head as there is) noted, those 4 seconds of tape will play thousands of times from now to November. The Dem strategy is clearly aimed at dropping Trump fast, and watching him fall apart, panic, lash out(confirming attacks for being thin-skinned) and further confirm his unworthiness of trust by the electorate. This one may well be over before either convention. Fear not, foreigners.......America has a LOT of stupid people, but it isn't ALL of us.

Personally, I'm looking forward to the race. Watching Trump melt down half a dozen times a week will be worth it's weight in comedy gold.

that's the point. Well, to a great degree it is operating at a diminished capacity, but that might be my inner old guy talking.
However, we mostly haven't gone batshit crazy enough to elect a political amateur, ignorant of the most basic global issues,
of diplomacy and completely lacking in both judgement and reason, and running on insults and ego. I have maintained faith in
that.
