....I actually am having some feelings of hope after a fecked up week last week in the US. When I hear Newt Gingrich and Marco Rubio both publicly admit that white Americans just don't understand the very real issues that Black Americans face every freaking day, that is the start to a dialog. When the NRA is exploding over the lack of response to defend a Black CC permittee, who was shot after telling the cop he had a legal weapon, things are starting to sink in. Lots of folks(some here) have been trying to suggest that Obama brought us racial discord, discrimination and hate. No, he didn't, but his election put in motion a political and social reality that allow such stuff, around forever, to make a last gasp effort to restore the old,white boy order, and the pushback we've seen from those who suffered from that order. That is progress, and that is HOW progress happens. It isn't fast, it isn't a straight line upward or forward. But, it's good to see when it happens.
