A Complete Waste of Space

Imagine this, I support Obama on this decision.
You are NOT allowed to critisize "god" while in uniform!
I would think a general officer would know that.
McChrystal shot his mouth off. He should be busted to
base grade (full colonel) and given a DOD.

By the way, as I see it Gen. McChrystal (four stars) is correct
in painting a picture of incompitence in the Osama regime.

That is not the point. Officers are NOT allowed to get political.
A General officer should totaly understand this.

good of you to be rational on this one, Happy. For the life of me, I cannot understand how a man who exhibited self-control and the savvy to move up the Military ladder let himself get sucked into that set of interviews. Frankly, as I read the article, it wasn't so much McChrystal himself, but his dimwitted, arrogant aides shooting their mouths off about what the General felt and said........no one should have let this thing go out to the public.

Yeah, McChrystal had to go...and McChrystal knew it...I think his rational was interesting? Being fired instead of quitting.

The next question...not being asked...Is Why?

The answer is very clear to me.....It's a shame we can't ask Patton or McArthur for their take on it.

Bad call on the General's part. He was correct that Obama is fecking things up, but in the military you STFU about your superiors.

Patton or McArthur?

Patton would have been fired if he were not so important
as a decoy for the coming invasion of Normandy.
Patton was that good, the Germans actually feared him.
Patton could never keep his mouth shut. It cost him
rank and position. Patton never got that coveted fith star.

McArthur was fired the old fasioned way. Despite his successes
he was fired by Harry S Truman. No resignation there.
Harry put up with more pooh than he should have before firing Douggie McArthur.

I bet both of them would have shot their mouth off in a more
hostile manner. They would have used the media of the day
like they used the newspapers back then.

As to an opinion?
Both of them would have advised McChrystal to keep his mouth shut.
Only they had the right to mouth off

Well from reading Micheal Yons facebook messages McChrystal should have been gone a while ago seems he isnt quite up to the job. And also isnt this a bit of a demotion for Petraus would have prefered Mattis myself i think that devildog could have done wonders

Funniest thing about all that is that Petraus was their despised whipping boy a few years back. I guess now when things don't go to shit as fast they hope, they can still blame it on George Bush.
