Dershowitz: Special Counsel Is Wrong Choice, Except to Investigate Leaks

"Dershowitz makes a three-part case against the special counsel. First, he says, the Trump campaign is not facing criminal accusations. Second, he says, even if collusion were to be found between the Trump campaign and the Russian government, or if Trump were found to have divulged secrets to the Russian foreign minister, none of that would be illegal, and ought to be punished by voters, not prosecutors. Third, he argues, Trump’s decision to fire James Comey does not constitute obstruction of justice, and a special counsel could not impeach him anyway."

ummm, I actually caught that interview, live. The Breitbart report is, not shockingly, a pack of lies. Yes, it is true that Dershowitz suggested that the FBI should investigate the leaks, or Mueller do so, if the matter of that Trump gaffe last week comes under a 'Russia Investigation', but at NO TIME did Dershowitz suggest that crimes were not committed, at no time did he argue that a special prosecutor(Counsel) was not needed, at no time did he state that collusion was not a crime, nor that members of the Trump team had not committed crimes. No, he stated that for most 'criminal' acts that DIRECTLY involve the President, the only remedies are Impeachment or losses at the polls. In that last part, he seems to agree with most other folks, myself included, who've looked at it.
