no surprise a politician is misbehaving; whats the signifigance of Rangel in particular, doing so?

is it some irony due to him being chair of "ways and means" commitee? wtf is the ways and means committee concerned with exactly?

well, Mostly the fact the Wrangle was one of the most vocal voices about ethics violations within the GOP. I personally find it quite satisfying that Hypocrate might now go to jail for tax evasion.

Ways and Means is a very powerful committee overseeing government spending. Charlie Rangel is an old school city politician, and thus, pretty shifty.

One of the great ironies, for those with a long memory, is that Charlie got his chance at the House when he beat the late Adam Clayton Powell in the primary. Powell had just undergone an Ethics hearing right before the primary. Now, Rangel is going to undergo a hearing, right before the primary(Sept) and who is his opponent? The son of Adam Clayton Powell. Full circle.

I'll be willing to bet that Rangel will no way see jail time. Hell, he might not even lose his seat. You are right that he was vocal about the ethics of others, and that would be beyond hypocrisy. I thought, at that time, that he would have been wise to stay silent on the subject of ethics, but......

If he is not kicked/voted out of office? You might want to change your vote, Slick. Just to show folks...you are... "a man of his word"....
